Kris is a Christchurch based performer and composer. He frequently appears in local acts such as Scared Scriptless, Gary Starlight, and The Unicorn. He is the Studio Manager at Orange Studios in Ferrymead.

Kris Finnerty is a jazz-trained pianist and holds a Bachelor of Music (Honours) from the New Zealand School of Music in Wellington. During his time at the NZSM, Kris shared the stage with prolific jazz artists (Tom Warrington, Colin Hemmingsen, Bruce Forman), and took part in countless performance opportunities led by New Zealand’s foremost big band leader Rodger Fox. Kris was also featured on the 2013 NZSM Big Band album Awright Awright.
While being an active performer, Kris is a freelance composer, having scored a number of short films and video games – most notably Alpha Kimori by Sherman3D. He frequently accompanies improv theatre, and dabbles in stand up comedy from time to time. Kris has been teaching piano professionally for over three years and is the current Studio Manager at Orange Studios in Christchurch.
